Trip Report - Falcon Ridge, Frisco Colorado, August 11, 2019.

Drove to Frisco and parked at the North Tenmile trailhead.

Trailhead. Falcon Point is the highest point in the picture

Walked about halfway down the on-ramp to I-70 (towards Copper Mountain). From there, started bushwhacking up the mountainside.

The route
There were a few cairns but there’s no real trail to follow because there are so many downed trees. The false summit is what you see from town. Just a short time into the hike, and you have a good view of the destination...

After a short climb, there are some good view of Mount Royal to the east.

Continuing up the undefined path, and I'm rewarded with nice views of Lake Dillon...

After that, arrived at the base of Falcon Point, which is pretty intimidating...
Approaching the crux of the route

Getting to the top had a few difficult moves, and I spent a lot of time route-finding. Just a little closer to the top, and you can see that it is getting more difficult. Photos don't always do justice to the reality of the situation. If you notice the verticality of the trees versus the rock, you can tell that this was quite steep.
The fun part

Kept going up to the true peak and then bushwhacked down to north Tenmile creek. There was a lot of avalanche debris on the way down the mountain. Crossed the creek by straddling a fallen tree, and arrived at the North Tenmile Trail. From there, it was a short 2 miles back to the trailhead.
